Open + Direct – Raining Cash

Commercial for Open + Direct Insurance in Northern Ireland. Shot in a green screen studio, we added a 3D street scene background and coins raining down as the performers spoof the “Raining Men” song.

This involved keying, masking and tracking of the moving shots. A dark cloth under the performers in some shots meant we had to mask areas by hand and we also had to deal with some very shiny outfits reflecting lots of green.

We tracked the logo onto the moving umbrella, we had to mask out the central character before the reveal at the start of the first shot and we also enhanced a shot of a handbag full of cash. Some real coins were used for this on set, but not enough to give the desired effect.
